Atlantic Bay Resort

They have nice, newer rooms and we enjoyed staying in a bigger one as the smaller room would have been too crowded for two people. That's the best part. It's on the more expensive side for this area. The room amenities were okay, but more thought was put into the Home Goods style decorations then in making it user friendly for the guests. A lack of hooks, bars or shelving to hang towels or clothing, etc. was not helpful. The toilet paper was awful. and the Continental breakfast was really lame! No fresh fruit nor yogurt, etc. The little muffins were so bad, they should not have offered any food at all. Also, we heard a very loud banging sound for multiple hours on a Sunday which sounded like an electric saw. It may have been a loose gutter banging on the siding outside of our room, #11. We recommend going elsewhere as there are many better values to be had nearby. At least the room was clean! We think the other high ratings for this resort are incorrect, as we have experienced much better places nearby. It's overpriced!

The resort is amazing and very well maintained. The beach is great and you can get a kayak complementary. The stuff is very nice Our room got a not so nice smell, we think is was treated after wetness or mold. The bath was just shower, didn’t have an handle… not good for the ladies that doesn’t want to wet their hair. The room face the court and we couldn’t have complete privacy. Even the curtain didn’t went completely down The breakfast place could be very nice but it only got coffee and cookies. If not for the room it was definitely 5 ⭐️ We were after very long journey, so we didn’t complain about it… for 1 night, we decided not to get into argument. Im sure all can be corrected and it would have been a great stay

Everything was okay and pretty awesome. Lack is if I need to mention then I would say their breakfast option and the rooms aren’t beachfront even though they mentioned it is but not all. However it’s close to beach and property is on the beach itself. It was nice stay and staffs were nice except they didn’t allow 15 mins late checkout so you judge.

Great property. Very quaint and peaceful. Room was very nice. We enjoyed our stay and I would say there is a good chance we will return in the future. The A/C unfortunately did go out in our room on night two. I bring this up not as a criticism of the hotel, however, quite the opposite. We compliment them on the way they handled the situation. Thank you.

First, right off the bat, this is an *excellent* resort, beautifully maintained, quiet, and friendly. As good as it gets! Folks, this is a *beautiful* little stop in Tavernier. We decided to do a little bit different thing for Thanksgiving this year, so we booked Atlantic Bay for a 5-day (4 night) stay. I've stayed in the keys before, with mixed success; sometimes things are a little out of repair or in need of a cleaning. With this place, holy mackerel! I can't remember ever seeing a resort so beautifully maintained and down right attractive! Lots of effort is spent doing little things like raking the sand, cleaning the grills, enhancing landscaping plants, etc. The lodging is mixed - there are several little bungalow type cottages as well as a small apartment hotel-like building; we stayed in a cottage. It was beautifully clean and efficient. Although there wasn't an oven in this unit, it was equipped with 2 hot plates for stovetop cooking. The bath was beautifully maintained and modern,the bed large and quality with decent pillows(!), and a handy sofa foldout in the main dinette/living/kitchen room. The other cabins have varieties of sizes and capacities. The only drawback to our unit is that the TV was in the main room, which you had to view from the bedroom; could be a problem if someone wants to go to sleep on the sofa while someone in the bedroom wants to watch TV. However the owner said he's working on putting TV's in more bedrooms. Anyway the views from the cabins are superb, and the ones nearer to the water's edge - spectacular sunsets! See the attached pictures. As to the staff, they were wonderful. Very accommodating and we had a small problem in the cabin that was addressed immediately, within the hour. They couldn't have been nicer. We also met the owner (Ted) who was there that day and he was great - sincerely asking if we're enjoying ourselves, and very personable. A plus rating for them all! I also liked the ease to check out a kayak or sail board. You just sign out and go on your way - a variety of boards, boats and life jackets you just pick up and go! We also grilled and although well-used, the gas worked great and we had a good experience there as well. We are hooked on this place and have every intention to make it a regular stop now. I couldn't have asked for more. Book it!

We like going to the Keys so we stopped in just to check out the property. We walked down to the water and was looking around when an employee came up to us and asked if we were driving the blue truck and we said yes. She then asked if we were checking in and we said no, we were from out of town and said we were just checking out your place and she responded with "I'm going to have to ask you to leave, this is private property". I'm impressed that an employee would be on top of insuring that only paid guests are using the property but the wife and I are in our sixties and not even close to being hooligans! Not staying there!
